Yes, I love those incredibly beautiful, noble, courageous, cuddly Newfoundland dogs. Their nicknames speak volumes: "Gentle Giant" and "Nature's babysitter". Legion are the stories of the sagacity and loyalty of the breed, particularly (but not confined to) their natural niche of water rescue.
Having signed up to this site, one of my first actions has been to follow the Newf blogs on which I've been unofficially lurking for some months now. As a prospective Newfoundland owner, I'm keen to learn as much as I can about what it's like to live with one.
Besides, reading about other people's Newfs, and watching their antics on YouTube, provide me with a quick fix until such time as I'm fortunate enough to be owned by one. (That's the phrasing many Newfoundland dog lovers seem to employ: you don't own them; they own you).

Sounds like you have put yourself in a position to open up to a Newfie.When the time is right a great puppy or rescue dog will come along.Best of Luck!
